A free daily puzzle game built around pattern recognition, quick thinking, and streaks worth protecting.
Fluctra started as a side project - I wanted a pattern game fast enough to play in five minutes with a leaderboard worth checking every day. The core rule is simple: find cells that share the same colour and shape, tap them to clear. What keeps it interesting is everything built on top of that.
Every day at midnight, a new Daily Challenge goes live. It's the same puzzle for every player worldwide - same board, same starting conditions, no advantages for anyone. Your score goes on the global leaderboard, your streak goes up by one, and you wait for tomorrow's. Between daily challenges you can work through Free Play's 105 levels at your own pace, or try Flux Mode, where the board quietly mutates while you play and the game ends when it's changed itself into an unsolvable state.
Fluctra is free on web at fluctra.com and as a native iOS app on the App Store.
Each round gives you a grid of cells. Every cell has a shape - diamond, circle, triangle, square, star - filled with a colour. Your goal: find cells that are adjacent horizontally or vertically and share both the same shape and the same colour.
Grids start small (3×3 in Free Play level 1) and grow as you advance. In timed modes the grid can also mutate between turns, which changes what's viable faster than you'd expect.
One thing worth knowing before you start: spend a half-second scanning the full board before your first tap. The opening clears shape everything that follows, and the best first move is rarely the most obvious one.
One puzzle per day, same seed for every player. You get one attempt, your score goes on the global leaderboard, and your streak increments. A good run feels earned. A bad one stings just enough to make tomorrow's feel worthwhile.
105 progressive levels from a comfortable 3×3 up to a demanding 9×9. No timer, no pressure. Progress saves automatically so you can pick up exactly where you left off.
A live 5×5 grid that mutates on its own schedule - cells flip colour or shape without warning. The game ends when the board has changed itself into an unsolvable state. No timer, but the board itself is working against you.
Generate a challenge link from any session and send it. They play the same board you did, and a result card shows the head-to-head comparison.
Points are awarded per clear: group size × your current combo multiplier. Clearing a 5-cell group scores more than five separate 1-cell clears - but the real leverage is the multiplier. Keeping your combo alive by making clears back-to-back is where the big numbers come from.
Your daily streak counts consecutive days you've played a Daily Challenge. Miss a day and it resets to zero. Streaks show on the global leaderboard alongside scores - a long streak is harder to fake than a single high score, and it tends to mean the player's scores are getting better over time too.
Gems are the in-game currency. You earn them by clearing groups during Free Play, and there's a free 15-gem daily bonus in the Shop. They don't expire.
Three power-ups are available from the toolbar above the grid:
Gems and power-up inventory sync across devices when you're signed in. Optional gem packs are available in the Shop if you want to top up faster.
You don't need an account to play. All progress, gems, streaks, and high scores save locally in your browser. Sign in (Google or email) if you want two things:

Fluctra runs in any modern browser with nothing to install. Desktop, tablet, and mobile all work. The native iOS app is on the App Store with optimised touch controls and the same cloud-synced account system.
